Global Wellness Day is an entirely not-for-profit day, a social project dedicated to living well. The purpose of Global Wellness Day is to ask the question, even if for just one day, “How can I live a healthier and better life?”, to direct the thoughts of both individuals and society towards “living well” and to raise awareness.
The main intentions of the day are:
- To recognize the value of our lives
- To pause and think, even if for just one day of the year
- To be free from the stress of everyday life and negative impact health habits
- To make peace with ourselves
- To raise awareness about living well and increase motivation, not just for today, but for the remaining 364 days of the year
First celebrated in 2012, Global Wellness Day was established in Turkey as the “first” day dedicated to living well, and has now been accepted worldwide. Reflecting its success, in 2019 Global Wellness Day has been celebrated simultaneously in more than 150 countries at 8000 different locations.
Global Wellness Day will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13th, 2020. In addition to the Chef Program that the Joseph P Cory Foundation is presenting, Nadona International will be having a fun virtual workshop on July 16, 2020. I have had the amazing experience to meet the artist and gourmand, who created an exquisite and unique product, Golden Olive Oil. An infusion of 24K gold flakes floating in carefully selected high quality extra virgin olive oil, hand-filled, and packaged for royalty.
Each step in this process is strictly controlled to ensure perfection. All items used in assemblage are handmade by experienced Croatian craftsman, many whom continue to nurture their traditional family trades which stretches back to 1861.
The faceted bottle features a handmade gilded top, and is positioned inside a luxuriously crafted black lacquered wooden box with a piano polish. For safe keeping, it is protected by a small lock and enrobed in a velvet pouch. Yes, there is more… a mirror is affixed on the underside of the box lid, and can be engraved with a customized message, logo or crest. Not to worry, if any of the oil should roll down the side of the neck when pouring, just use the ultra soft serving glove provided for a better grip, and to keep one’s hands clean.
A final touch, inside each box is a booklet that tells the story of the Golden Olive Oil, the best way to enjoy it, and recipes for beautifully prepared meals. Yes, we all want to buy this, it is an artful conversation piece that is delicious as well.
